New wetsuit company HUUB, named after swimming scientist Huub Toussaint, is applying to wetsuits the kind of scientific research and development high-end bike manufacturers have enjoyed for years in order to change how wetsuits are designed.

The company is the brainchild of Dean Jackson, late of Blueseventy, who has worked along with Huub and Swim Smooth experts Adam Young and Paul Newsome to create the suits. The designs reflect hydrodynamic science, swim biomechanics and the practicalities of racing to all have had an influence. Our aim is to create better products combining research, science and practicality.

Warranty of a Huub wetsuit is only valid with original receipt. From date of purchase the warranty is valid for one year, however if the customer completes the warranty form the warranty will then be valid for two years. Huub will do its best to comply with the customer's needs and if necessary replace the wetsuit, and do our very best to fix the problem.

Working with one of the world’s leading manufacturers we found a way that kept construction simple while delivering the body alignment support and compression needed. We worked with the finest Italian fabric, placing panels in specific locations that replicated the already proven X-O Skeleton of our wetsuit. By maximizing the fabric ‘Warp and Weft’ (for key compressive zones) this allowed us to maintain freedom for stroke while aiding the body to track in a straight line and reducing stroke crossover.

Reducing water flow over the body was considered not only with the suits’ construction but also the areas where suit transitions to skin. Welded seams of water resistant Warp Knit fabric gives a smooth and fast surface.

By removing tight leg grippers and extending the width of leg hems we were able to reduce the tourniquet bulge effect keeping water-flow smooth and uninterrupted.

The aXena is a project that has taken over 12 months of refinement, working with athletes across the globe and finally we are so happy with our product we have aligned with one of the most discerning and amazing athletes of the modern female triathlon scene. Caroline Steffen, also known as 'Xena' to her colleagues and friends, has found what she believes to be her perfect wetsuit. (No finer endorsement could we ask for).

We have taken the NBR composite -39 X-O skeleton™ and wrapped the thighs and hips to deliver increased buoyancy and improved body alignment. Combined with the exclusive Bicep-Release™ and Calf Release™.
